Meet the international jury of photography contest "Framing the City"

The winners of the photography contest "Framing the City" will be decided by renowned experts: Ivana Bošnjak, art historian and curator (Croatia), Pierpaolo Mittica, photographer and filmmaker (Italy), Sandi Bulimbašić, art historian (Croatia), Aleksandar Tomulić, photographer (Croatia) i Rudi Uran, photographer and filmmaker (Slovenia).

IVANA BOŠNJAK


Ivana Bošnjak holds a Master's degree in Art History and Croatian Language and Literature, obtained from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split. In 2021, she established a consulting business focused on business and management. She works as a project manager for organizing events, conferences, and seminars, and handles logistical tasks within the organization. Since April 2023, she has also been employed as the Head of Program Activities at the Split Photoclub. In this role, she performs administrative tasks and manages the Photography Gallery, including media communications, coordination of exhibition and discourse programs, and communication with authors, among other responsibilities. She volunteers at numerous artistic and cultural events. 

PIERPAOLO MITTICA


Pierpaolo Mittica - award-winning photographer and filmmaker, his photographs have been exhibited in Europe, United States, China, Japan and Australia, and published in major international newspapers including National Geographic, Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, The Guardian, Newsweek, Days Japan International. His documentaries have been broadcast by: Amazon Prime Video, Al Jazeera, Discovery Channel, RSI TV Switzerland. He has received more than 100 international awards.

SANDI BULIMBAŠIĆ


Sandi Bulimbašić is an art historian from Split. She is employed at the Split Conservation Department as a senior advisor-conservator for immovable cultural heritage. She graduated in art history and English language and literature from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb, where she also earned a PhD with a dissertation on the Society of Croatian Artists "Medulić" (1908–1919), published in 2016 as part of the DPUH's scientific monographs. She publishes professional and scientific papers, reviews, and critiques, collaborates on scientific projects, and is the author and co-author of several exhibition projects. Her areas of scientific and professional interest include modern and contemporary art, especially photography, the history of art associations and exhibitions, the art of Ivan Meštrović, national expression in art, and the relationship between art and politics.

ALEKSANDAR TOMULIĆ


Aleksandar Tomulić was born in 1967 in Rijeka. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering in Rijeka in 1991. He lives and works in Rijeka. He has been systematically involved in photography since early 2004. In 2010, he was admitted to the Croatian Association of Visual Artists (HDLU) Rijeka and was awarded the AFIAP title the same year, followed by the EFIAP title in 2012. He is an active member of Fotoklub Color (Rijeka), Fotoklub Pag, and Fotoklub Objektiv (Kragujevac).

He has exhibited in 19 solo exhibitions and over 650 group exhibitions, receiving more than 510 awards and recognitions. He has received numerous significant accolades for his work, including the "Tošo Dabac" award in 2023, the City of Rijeka Annual Award in 2019, the Croatian Association of Technical Culture Annual Award in 2019, the Croatian Photographic Union Annual Awards in 2009 and 2010, and nine times the "Apoksiomen" award for enhancing the quality of cultural creation in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

He has served as a selector and jury member for over 35 FIAP and PSA photographic salons and competitions. Since early 2013, he has also worked as a photography instructor, conducting photography courses and workshops.

RUDI URAN


Rudi Uran (1961, Ljubljana) received his art-oriented education first at the School of Design in Ljubljana, and later, in 1985, at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. Since 2015 he has been a member of the Slovenian Directors' Association and since 2018 he has also been a member of the Maribor Photography Club. He lives and works in Maribor, where he is involved in filmography, video production, photography and graphic design. He is the author of more than 200 music and promotional films, just over 30 films, and two feature films. As a film director and photographer, he has received numerous awards and prizes over the years.
